On October 1, 2024, ClearBlade released the latest version of our award-winning IoT software, Tarantula. This quarter has been filled with operational improvements, a constant focus on security, and new capabilities honoring the latest standards. Learn more about the features below.

IoT Core

Availability of Digicert G5 Root CA URIs:  ClearBlade released new URIs to support the retirement of the DigitCert G1 Root CA and migrate to the G5 Root CA.

IoT Enterprise and Edge

Kinesis Native Connector: ClearBlade has extended its native streaming integration library to support rapidly mapping MQTT topics into producers and consumers in AWS Kinesis data streams.

OIDC Domain Filters: Apply domain filters to your OIDC mappings to ensure you have appropriate corporate-managed access controls to ClearBlade IoT Enterprise environments.

Database Statistics: New endpoints are available for Administrator users to quickly see macro-level behavior regarding underlying database activities including the most frequent and longest-running calls. This enables faster discovery and resolution of performance issues seen at scale.

GRPC and Protobuff Support: ClearBlade now provides native support in services for using Protobuff data structures and communicating via GRPC calls. These capabilities allow for highly performant implementations with enterprise software offerings.

Intelligent Assets

True/False Attribute Widget: The true/false attribute widgets on the Asset Details page have been enhanced to customize display mode, adjust visual properties such as color and icon, and modify font and icon size.

Asset Tags: Assets can now have assigned tags and will be displayed in the Asset table view, Asset Details page, dashboard tab filters, and widget filters.

Event Filters: Filters have been added to the events table in the Events tab on the Asset Details page, making it easier to search by event status, priority, and severity. We also have a new look for the Events page filters. This side-panel redesign allows for a clear organization and improved workflow.

Duplicate Dashboards: Dashboards can now be duplicated to improve customization and boost productivity.

Dashboard Export: Dashboard tabs can now be exported as PDF or CSV files, and widgets can be exported individually or in bulk.

Dashboard Improvements: This update includes new customization options for table widgets, such as default sorting and rows per page settings. It also adds relative time range filtering and introduces assets and root assets as dimensions for event widgets. Additionally, the dashboard-level time range now applies to the event’s “created_at” date.

Bulk Update Events: Event types on the Events page can now be updated in bulk and no longer have to be updated individually.

AI Assistant Rule Creation: Intelligent Assets’ AI Assistant now has the capability to create rules. This generative AI tool makes it possible to effortlessly create asset types, assets, event types, and rules.

Microfrontends for Asset Widgets: Microfrontends are now available for attribute widgets on the Asset Details page for more customization and improved scalability.

The Tarantula Nebula was discovered in the 1750s and is highly luminous with an apparent magnitude of 8. It is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud of the Dorado constellation.
